Introduction
The Aquentis GD-1 Gas Detectors have been designed to suite many environments with the
units aesthetically pleasing design being equally at home in a modern office as it is in a
plant room. The unit has also been designed with ease of installation in mind and fit’s over a
standard UK single socket box either flush or surface mounted, this gives maximum flexibility for cable
access by conduit or mini trunking whilst allowing a clean installation in flush situations. The microprocessor
based detector can be set to detect most common gases and monitors continuously for the presence of CFC’s, HCFC’s
and HFC’s in the atmosphere. When the desired gas is detected and it’s concentration surpasses the programmed
alarm threshold the built in sounder emits a continuous tone, whilst the red Alarm LED illuminates to show which
unit is in alarm. Internally two relays are provided for control and signal purposes. Unlike many other units,
this detector is issued with a works calibration certificate where each unit is shown to have been tested against
reference gasses and the unit’s response is noted.
Unsurpassed life expectancy
The units have a designed 5 year service life with no recalibration being required during this
period, replacement sensor heads are available to further extend the operational life of the units.
The detectors can be used stand alone, connected to a central monitoring BMS or connected to the Aquentis
range of Leak Detection panels. On remote sites the Detector can be connected to an Auto-dialler connected to
the local phone network to make maintenance staff at control aware of the problem.
