Water Detection Sensors

Truly the business end of any detection system water detection sensors are placed around sensitive or critical equipment and infrastructure. Sensors are normally either cable or probe based allowing protection to be provided for most common situations. Sensing cables have the advantage of being able to provide linear water detection allowing larger area’s to be afforded coverage. However probes have the advantage of being less sensitive to dirty environments and can be located within certain locations where a sensing cable would suffer from contamination.

Generally sensing cables are available in a range of lengths with connectors fitted at both ends that allow them to be connected together to form the required length. Probes can normally be connected together with Jumper cable although this is dependant on the specific panel they are connected to.
